Well done to our swimmers. On Monday the 18th May some of the pupils represented the school at the Wadebridge Swimming Festival. The children came 2nd overall. This week the Starlings made ginger biscuits for the Buddies to take down to the Red Cross in the Church Hall. The Buddies loved chatting to everyone and wanted to thank the Red Cross for their refreshments!
Friends raised £160 towards the new school library. Judging was extremely difficult and took nearly 2 hours. Winners were Bertie Brooker, Ruby Mason, Ross Cowling and Elaine Pearman. Thank you to everyone who entered and came along to support the event.
It’s fantastic to see so many parents and grandparents joining in with Wake and Shake on a Friday morning week after week. Keep it up! Remember, every time you dance you’re earning house points for your child(ren)’s house team! Thank you.
Our football team attended the Camel Challenge tournament on 21st April. It was a tough afternoon with five 12-minute matches to be played! They didn’t give up all afternoon in the blazing heat and won their last match 3-0! Well done boys!
Well done to the team who represented St Merryn School at the Tag Rugby Finals Tournament in St Austell on Friday 17th April. Fantastic team work everybody! True sportsmanship and composure showed throughout the tournament, you should be very proud of yourselves.
Starlings were very busy last week excavating fossils as part of their dinosaur themed topic ‘A Long, Long Time Ago’. There were large fossils in the Sand and Water garden and smaller, more delicate fossils in the sand trays in the classroom.
