Our fantastic pupils showed amazing determination and spirit today, as they braved the freezing rain to take part in the KS2 Cross Country running competition at Wadebridge School! We were so proud of all the children that took part in such difficult conditions. A special well done to Cadan Williams who finished in 2nd place against children […]
Everyone at St Merryn celebrated in style today as we raised money for Children in Need. The school council did a fantastic job organising lots of fundraising events from cake sales to obstacle courses! The highlight of the day was certainly the fashion show. In total we raised over £260, well done St Merryn.
What an amazing event the KS1 cross country turned out to be. The children who competed showed determination and pride as they raced against other primary schools in the Wadebridge area. They supported each other to the end and were a true asset to St Merryn School. Well done everyone!
Children from school gave up their sunday morning to remember war casualties at St Merryn church at the annual Remembrance service. The children took an active part in the service and all helped to lay crosses on the war graves. Thank you to all who took part and their parents for supporting this village event.
We’re all feeling very proud of Miss Smith who has just graduated with a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning. She has another year of study ahead to convert this into an Honours Degree. Keep going Miss Smith, we know you’ll do it!
Our Wagtails have been busy harvesting blackberries and apples from the school grounds. On Friday, they worked in the school kitchen with Miss Lindsey to prepare a delicious crumble. The school Buddies delivered the pudding to the Age Concern lunch club to wish them a happy harvest. The members said it was the best crumble […]
Wow what an amazing Evacuee Week we all had! There were several teary eyes on Monday morning […]
The year 6 surfers had a fantastic afternoon on the beach competing against 3 local schools. The conditions were tough but all of the children managed to show off their surfing skills to the judges. After two rounds each Fin Brader was named the overall winner of the competition, congratulations Fin. Well done to all […]
Our Wagtails enjoyed their visit to the Fire Station on Friday. They each got to try using the hose, explore a fire engine and learn all about staying safe. The fire fighters sent every child home with souvenirs of the visit. Thank you to our parent helpers.
We may have only been back for a couple of days, but already the school is a hive of activity and smiling faces! All children have settled well back into their classes, especially our Wrens who have joined our Nursery. Here are just a few snippets from our first week.
