Children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were amazing in the very chilly KS2 Cross Country Competition today. They were brilliant ambassadors for St Merryn School. Well done to everyone that took part!
The KS2 swimmers had a fantastic competition coming 2nd in the small schools event. Well done St Merryn excellent behaviour and teamwork.
The children in Year 4 had an exciting trip to Stein’s Seafood School today. They learnt how to fillet a cod, and then make Thai curry paste and fishcakes. They cooked and ate their own delicious cooking. Yum!
Key Stage 2 had a fantastic afternoon of topic-themed singing with Nicola from the Music Hub. The children all loved the rock n roll style Henry VIII song!
Everyone at St Merryn celebrated in style today as we raised money for Children in Need. The school council did a fantastic job organising lots of fundraising events from cake sales to obstacle courses! The highlight of the day was certainly the fashion show. In total we raised over £260, well done St Merryn.

Kestrels Class had a totally amazing day at Mother Ivey’s Bay today. Julie from Badger Forest School taught the children how to identify rock pool creatures, eat seaweed and build their own fires for cooking freshly caught mussels on! The children also made amazing sand sculptures. What a wonderful day!
Children from Key Stage 2 represented St Merryn School at a Rounders Festival this afternoon at Wadebridge Secondary School. They had a fantastic time learning new skills and then playing matches against other local primary schools.
Many thanks to everyone who attended our Easter service in our lovely village church. It was fantastic to be supported by so many. The children did us proud with their poems, singing and parading.
