Wow what a wonderful day we all had at Constantine for our first whole school beach day in years! We were so impressed with the children’s stamina to walk down to the beach, enjoying different routes through the village many of them had never explored before. After a snack and drink the children enjoyed beach activities, in and out of the shade before lunch was kindly delivered by Mrs Lindsey and Miss Rees. In the afternoon the children displayed excellent team work and creativity as they created large sculptures working in mixed age Harlyn and Treyarnon groups. The sculptures ranged from jellyfish to turtles, mermaids to dragons and we were all so impressed with the designs and natural materials used to create the masterpieces! House points were awarded for best team work as well as best sculptures, with the overall winner being ‘team ocean turtle’ depicting a happy turtle eating seaweed and an unhappy turtle eating plastic; so topical for our marine litter focus.
A huge thank you to all of the parent helpers today; it wouldn’t have been possible without you all. And thank you to all of our families for being flexible with the end of day arrangements so pupils didn’t have to walk back in the heat. Your children were a complete credit to you all.
