Our Wagtails enjoyed their visit to the Fire Station on Friday. They each got to try using the hose, explore a fire engine and learn all about staying safe. The fire fighters sent every child home with souvenirs of the visit. Thank you to our parent helpers.

We may have only been back for a couple of days, but already the school is a hive of activity and smiling faces! All children have settled well back into their classes, especially our Wrens who have joined our Nursery. Here are just a few snippets from our first week.

The Barn Owls had a fantastic morning at Clip and Climb today.There were plenty of exciting moments with several of them overcoming their fear of heights and many beating their own speed climb records!
Kestrels Class had a totally amazing day at Mother Ivey’s Bay today. Julie from Badger Forest School taught the children how to identify rock pool creatures, eat seaweed and build their own fires for cooking freshly caught mussels on! The children also made amazing sand sculptures. What a wonderful day!
Children from Key Stage 2 represented St Merryn School at a Rounders Festival this afternoon at Wadebridge Secondary School. They had a fantastic time learning new skills and then playing matches against other local primary schools.
Wagtails LOVED every minute of beach school with Mr FT last week. They even discovered a squat lobster. We can’t wait for our next session.
One of our neighbours has kindly sent us this photo of a little rabbit who has missed the running race. It’s interesting to see which creatures visit our grounds when the children are not around.
Congratulations to Tre and Jon who got married at the weekend. We had a mock wedding at school so the children could be involved and understand the name change! We wish them a long and happy life together.
